The winter at Tegernsee
In winter, Lake Tegernsee offers you excellent opportunities to make your vacation an unforgettable experience.
No matter if you like skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, touring skiing, tobogganing, walking and, if the weather is fine, skating or playing ice hockey, in our homeland everyone gets his money's worth.
The health resort Bad Wiessee has been awarded the title of Top Health Resort 2020 by the magazine FOCUS and has a wonderful beach promenade as well as the newly built and ultra-modern iodine-sulfur bath health center. This wonderful little town at the Tegernsee is not only known for its healing water - in the form of the strongest iodine-sulfur spring in Germany - and its specialized clinics, but also enchants its guests from all over the world with its small cafés and stores, the nationally known gastronomy, on request also with its starred chefs and the indescribable flair that only the area around Tegernsee and Schliersee, often praised as the most beautiful landscape in Germany, has to offer.
Rental stations for cross-country or touring skis and also for your alpine equipment as well as snowshoes or toboggans can be reached within a few minutes on foot. Directly in and around Bad Wiessee there are numerous cross-country ski runs through the beautiful winter landscape. Also the skiing area Spitzingsee-Tegernsee with its 10 lifts for all winter sportsmen from beginners to professionals and its ski and snowboard schools is only a few kilometers away. Further ski lifts like the Oedberg or the Hirschberg are also only a few minutes drive away.
And for the very daring we recommend the 6.5 kilometer long natural toboggan run at Wallberg. This is one of the longest and most sporty in Germany. The rapid descent into the valley takes about half an hour. A very special thrill that you will not forget so quickly. Attention here exists danger of addiction!
Your vacation home is located at the foot of the Fockenstein and the Aueralm. From here you can also start directly into the mountains in winter or explore the many-sided surrounding mountains like the Wallberg, which can be reached by cable car.
Culinary connoisseurs have only a few minutes' walk to the elevated Freihaus Brenner with its excellent cuisine or can enjoy themselves in the Yachtclub Bad Wiessee or the many surrounding restaurants or cafés. And the legendary Bräustüberl in the Tegernsee monastery and the many Christmas markets (in the pre-Christmas period) are always worth a visit.
It's almost impossible to list all the sights, events and other highlights the region has to offer individually. However, in Paradise we provide you with an information folder with tips and suggestions.
